The bridge construction projects (in-house undertaken by the Department of Highways), which require structural integrity and a long lifespan, necessitate units with expertise in bridge construction.
In the past, the Department of Highways was divided into sections called Bridge Construction Sections, responsible for the construction and rehabilitation of reinforced concrete bridges as assigned by the Department.
Currently, the Department of Highways has established a unit responsible for bridge construction called the "Bridge Construction and Rehabilitation Center," which is divided into four centers based on their respective areas of responsibility.
The 3rd Bridge Construction and Rehabilitation Center (Pathum Thani) was responsible for the Central, Eastern, and Western regions of Thailand.
